2025 Keynote Speaker, Lauren Sisler's book, "Shatterproof"
Lauren is a former collegiate gymnast, an Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster, ESPN sideline reporter, author, and keynote speaker.
"However, I didn’t always know how to own MY story. As an 18-year-old college student, I lost both of my parents to their hidden battle with prescription drug addiction within hours of each other — and I spent years and years living in the throes of grief, shame, and fear. I was devastated, I was angry, and I was confused… and it took a long time to find the courage and strength to stand up again.
When I finally learned to fall in love with my own story, I took hold of my shame — a universal feeling we all share — and repurposed it into something meaningful."

CRUSH Coalition Night, Nov 19, 2025 w/ Lauren
Shatterproof
Published in 2024, Shatterproof: How I Overcame the Shame of Losing My Parents to Opioid Addiction (and Found My Sideline Shimmy), Sisler enters the dark and mysterious pasts her parents hid from everyone but each other. She applies her skills as a reporter to uncover details of the double lives they led even as they loved and supported her athletic career as a gymnast. She also lays bare her shock and grief after their deaths, confessing the lengths to which she went to avoid facing the unimaginable truth (Amazon).
Lauren's speaking fee and book purchases were paid for by the CDC grant, Overdose Data 2 Action, through DPH in collaboration with SSM and Preferred Family Healthcare.
Beginning in 2014, the Teen Drug Summit was an event hosted by St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's office and Drug Treatment Court.
